Eighth Commandment
As young people confirm their faith in Christ we consider also the confirmation vow of St. Peter. He swore he would never deny Christ. Then only hours later he broke the commandment against false testimony by swearing the didn’t even know Christ. What happened? How are we doing on our vows?
Seventh Commandment
Obedience to the spirit of this commandment begins with the acknowledgement that all material things belong to God. He supplies our every need and give us no reason to be greedy.
Sixth Commandment
While it is easy to blame our permissive society for sexual sins God’s warnings about such sins predates our society several centuries. The problem is not what is around us but what is inside of us. Here we get to the root cause of adultery: idolatry.
Fifth Commandment
While most people believe they have never murdered anyone, this commandment encompasses all the ways we harm or fail to help our neighbor. To keep the commandment in our heart we begin with an appreciation of human life’s value in the eyes of God.
